Meghalaya to implement Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme
On 15th June 2018, MoU has signed with the Union Health Ministry, AL Hek has informed that the Meghalaya Government will implement the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission (AB- NHPM).
The Minister also informed that the state will merge its own Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) with AB- NHPM.
The existing Health Insurance Cover is Rs 2, 80, 000 under Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) while the AB- NHPM will provide a cover of Rs 50 Lakhs per family annually.
PM Narendra Modi to chair Fourth Meeting of NITI Aayog’s Governing Council today
On 17th June 2018, Fourth Meeting of NITI Aayog has began at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. The meeting will be chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In this meeting, various issues were discussed including the measures taken to double father’s income.
Progress of other Flagship Programmes such as Ayushman Bharath, National Nutrition Mission, and Mission Indradhanush were also discussed in this meeting.
The Development Agenda of “New India 2022” was also approved.
NITI Aayog will act as “Think Tank”of the Government and will work as a bridge between the centre and the states.
Telangana Government to set up Child Protection Unit in 31 Districts
On 17th June 2018, the Telangana Government has decided to set up Child Protection Unit Programme in 31 Districts to protect from accidents/ mishaps such as Child Abuse, Child Labor and to implement child rights in all the districts.
Women and Child Welfare Department Secretary M Jagdeshwar informed that the District Child Protection Units (DCPU) has already been set in 10 Districts and has been planned to established in other 21 Districts of the state by next two months.
The main aim of this Project is to protect from Child Trafficking and to implement juvenile justice.
Whatsapp Introduced Payment Services in India
On 17th June 2018, Whatsapp Payment Service in India has been in Beta Testing and almost one million people have tested the new feature.
This service has been implemented with the help of NPCI and multiple banks.
It has tied up with the banks to facilitate via Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
The Reserve Bank of India has mandated all the payment system operators to ensure the data related to the payments is stored in India giving firms six months to comply with it.
The compliance will be monitored by NPCI.
It has been stated that a Sensitive User Data such as the 6-Digits of a Debit Card and UPI Pin is not stored at all.
Russia successfully launched Glonass – M Positioning Satellite
On 17th June 2018, Russia successfully launched Glonass – M Positioning Satellite using Soyuz- 2.1 b Carrier Rocket.
The Glonass Rocket provides real-time positioning data for surface, sea and airborne objects around globe at an accuracy reportedly at par at the US Global Positioning System.
