Paraguay got its First Woman Interim President

  • Paraguay gets a first woman President Alicia Pucheta for the first time in the history after outgoing leader Horacio Cartes stepped down ahead from the schedule.

  • Vice President Alicia Pucheta will complete Carte’s mandate after he resigned to become a senator.

  • Paraguay has just 8 women among its 45 senators, 11 among the 80 members of the lower house.

  • Paraguay ranks the 135th out of 180 countries on the 2017 corruption index of Transparency International.

Madhya Pradesh Government decides to regularize 2 Lakh 37, 000 Contractual Teachers

  • Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to regularize 2 Lakh37 Thousand Contractual Teaches in the State.

  • The decision was take at the Cabinet Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh yesterday.

  • The Cabinet also decided that no contractual employee in other Government Departments will be retrenched.

  • The Union Government also decided that the contractual staffers will be given 15 days of privilege leave, 13 days casual leave, 10 days other leaves in the calender year.

Gaj Yatra launched in Garo Hills of Meghalaya

  • Gaj Yatra is a 18 month National Campaign aimed to protect Elephants, Indian Heritage Animal in 12 elephant range states.

  • The Campaign is organized by the Wildlife Trust of India in collaboration with the State Forest Department.

  • Under this campaign, an elephant mascot will be there. It was launched to the acknowledged good gesture of villagers from Garo Hills who has set aside part of their community- owned land to create the village researchers.

PRAAPTI App launched by the Minister of State (I/C) for Power Shri R. K Singh

  • A Web Portal and an App was launched named (PRAAPTI) Payment Ratification and Analysis in Power Procurement for bringing Transparency in Invoicing of Generators, www.praapti.in

  • The Portal and App was launched by Honorable Minister of State (I/C) for Power Shri R. K Singh.

  • The main objective of this App and Web Portal is to bring transparency in the power purchase transactions between Generators and Discoms.

  • This will help the Stakeholders in getting month-wise and legacy data on outstanding amounts of Discoms against power purchase.

Jual Oram launches “the Pankha” (Hand-Fans) through TRIFED and TRIBES India

  • Union Tribal Affairs Minister (Jual Oram) had launched an Exhibition cum Sale Event named, “The PANKHA” (Hand-Fans), created by TRIFED through the artisans from all over the country at its showroom “The Tribes India”, New Delhi.

  • The Pankha is a range of an exotic Hand-Fans that draws inspiration from the eminent artist, Shri Jatin Das and from his collection of 10, 000 Handmade Pankhas.

  • These Hand- Fans are on a display at Indira Gandhi National Auditorium (IGNA), New Delhi from 26th May 2018 to 24th July 2018.

  • TRIFED is showcasing and marketing these through 94 Retail Outlets and e- Portals.
