Facebook ties up with National Commission to launch a Digital Literacy Programme

  • The largest social networking site Facebook partnered with the National Commission for women (NCW) to launch a Digital Literacy Programme (DLP).

  • The Digital Literacy Programme will be launched in the collaboration with the Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF).

  • The Cyber Peace Foundation is a Civil Society Organization that is set up in Ranchi, Jharkhand which is involved in the Training related to all the aspects of the Cyber security.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi 3rd Nation Visit: India Signs MRA in Nursing with Singapore.

  • India signed the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) in Nursing with Singapore.

  • This is the first MRA that is signed by India with any of our Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Partners.

  • In the major grain for India, Singapore agreed to expand coverage of Indian Nursing Institutions in the MRA.

  • This paved the way for our Healthcare Service Providers to institutionally access the markets in abroad.

  • India and Singapore concluded the 2nd Review of India Singapore CECA which was officially announced by both sides during the Prime Minister visit to Singapore.

The Union Scheme Launches a New Scheme called “SevaBhojYojana”

  • The Union Ministry of Culture introduced a new scheme named “SevaBhojYojana” to reimburse the Central Share of CGST and IGST on items for Food/ Prasad/Langar/ Bhandara offered free of cost by the Charitable Religious Institutions.

  • The Scheme is launched for the Financial Year 2018-19 and 2019-20 with an total outlay of Rs 325 Crores.

  • The Scheme reimburse the Central Government’s Share of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and Integrated Goods and Tax Services (IGST) on the purchase of the raw materials / items such as Jaggery, Ghee, Edible Oil, Sugar, Rice Pulses etc which are required for making the Prasad.

  • The main objective of this Scheme is to lessen the Financial Burden of such charitable religious institutions, which provide free of cost food without any discrimination to the general public and devotees.

Income Tax Department launches a New Benami Transactions Informants Reward Scheme, 2018

  • The Income Tax Department has issued a new reward scheme called “Benami Transactions Informants Reward Scheme”, 2018 to seek people’s participation in the Income Tax Department’s effort t unearth the Black Money and Reduce the Tax Evasion.

  • Under the New Rewards Scheme, a reward up to Rs 1 Crore would be given to those who can give specific information in a Prescribed manner to the Joint or Additional Commissioners of Benami Production Units (BPUs) in Investigation Directorates of Income Tax Department about the Benami Transactions and Properties.

  • Substantial evasion in the Tax Income or assets in India, which are actionable under the Income- Tax Act 1961.

  • People of Foreign Origin are also eligible for such reward if they can provide required information.

Union Government working on Long- Term Solution to deal with the Rising Fuel Prices by encouraging use of Non- Conventional Fuel.

  • Union Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari said that the Government is working on a Long- Term Solution to deal with the Rising Fuel Prices by encouraging the use of Non-Conventional Fuel.

  • Mr. Gadkari drew a special attention to the achievements made by the NDA Government in the past four years in a Press Conference in Pune yesterday.

  • The Central Minister of the NDA Government under the Leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of the country.

  • The schemes that are launched by the Government are providing several opportunities to the people to fulfill their aspirations.
