ISRO successfully carries out flight tests for Crew Escape System
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully carried out a flight test for a newly designed Crew Escape System.
The system aimed at saving lives of astronauts in an emergency.
This was the first in a series of tests to ascertain the trustworthiness and efficiency of the Crew Escape System.
The Emergency System is designed to quickly pull away the crew module, which carries the astronauts to a safe distance from the launch vehicle in case there is a problem with the mission.
NSG to be the First Central Force to opt for e-ticketing instead of Railway Warrant
The National Security Grand (NSG) will be the first central parliamentary force to opt for e-ticketing instead of Railway Warrant.
A MoU to this effect was signed between the IRCTC and NSG.
NSG Personnel will need not to carry railway warrants, making it easier to purchase tickets.
A similar system is also in the offing for the Central Reserve Police Force.
Uttarakhand HC declares animals to be “Legal Persons”
The Uttarakhand High Court has given animals in the state the status of “Legal Person or entity”
The Court said that all the animals have a distinct persona with corresponding rights, duties, liabilities of a living person.
A Division bench of Justices Rajiv Sharma and Lokpal Singh passed this order and issued directives to prevent cruelty towards animals.
The Court has declared all the Uttarakhand Natives to be the guardians of the animals in the state.
Gujarat CM launches special drive against malnutrition “Poshan Abhiyan”.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched “Poshan Abhiyan” a statewide mission to eradicate malnutrition amongst the children.
Under this Scheme, Nutrition food will be provide through the Aganwadi Centres.
60 Lakh Beneficiaries will be covered in Gujarat through a Network of 53, 000 Aganwadi Centres.
Rupani also launched “Purna” project to eliminate malnutrition among girls aged between 14 years to 18 years.
“Purna” stands for Prevention of Under Nutrition and Reduction of Nutritional Anemia among Adolescent girls.
Telangana allots 200 acres to the Women Entrepreneurs
On 6th July 2018, Telangana Government alloted 200 acres to 3 women entrepreneurs associations in Telangana.
This announcement was made by the Telangana Industries and IT Ministers KT Rama Rao at an event in which the Telangana State Infrastructure Corporation offered allotment letters to 18 women entrepreneurs of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) at the FLO TSIIC Industrial Park, Sultanpur near Hyderabad.
50 acres have been alloted to FLO Sultanpur, 30 acres have been alloted to Confederation of Women Entrepreneur (COWE) at Toopran.
