Selection Procedure of Assam Police Recruitment

Document Verification: Candidates are required to carry a set of self attested photocopies along with the originals of the following documents.
Mark-sheet of HSLC or equivalent examination (For Armed Branch).
Certificate of proof of age. (HSLC or equivalent certificates).
Certificate of sports, games etc. (if any).
Mark –Sheet of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (For Unarmed Branch).
Certificate of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (For DEF, Unarmed Branch).
Certificate of caste from the competent authority in respect of the candidates belonging to ST (P)/ST(H)/SC/OBC & MOBC.
Certificate of NCC (if any) from competent authority.
Certificate of additional qualifications such as Diploma from ITI or other recognized/accredited institute, Diploma / Certificate of Proficiency in Computer etc (if any).
Appointment certificate as S.P.O. issued by the Superintendent of Police.
Certificate of F.M.M.O. issued by Special Branch Hqrs. of Assam Police, Kahilipara, Guwahati.
Certificate for working as member of V.D.P. issued by the Superintendent of Police.

In case any candidate fails to show original Caste Certificate on the day of PST/PET, such candidates shall be treated as GENERAL.
Recent Passport size photograph (2 copies).
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates whose documents are found correct, they will be allowed to take part in the Physical Standard Test (PST). In PST, Measurement of the weight, height and chest (males) will be examined by a Medical Officer. After that preliminary check-ups will be done like colour blindness test, physical deformities, vision test, knock knee, flat foot etc. Candidates who will qualify PST shall be eligible for next phase of the recruitment process i.e. Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be conducted for 40 Marks. In PET, candidates will have to take part in Long Jump and Race. The details are as follows.
- Long Jump
For Male candidates – Candidates will have to make long jump for minimum 335 cm. Each candidate will be given 3 chances and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).
For Female candidates – Candidates will have to make long jump for minimum 244 cm. Each candidate will be given 3 chances and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).
- Race
For Male candidates – Candidates have to complete 3.2 km race within 14 minutes (840 seconds).
For Female candidates – Candidates have to complete 1600 meters race within 08 minutes.
- Written Exam
Candidates who will qualify PST/PET shall be eligible for appearing in Written Test. Written test will be conducted in offline mode wherein candidates have to mark their response in the provided OMR sheet. There will be 100 multiple choice questions carrying 50 Marks. The level of the questions will of standard IX and X.
