Gulbarga University is one of the most reputed educational institutions in the country, particularly in the state of Karnataka. The university offers a number of different postgraduate courses, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in a variety of disciplines covering the Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. The applications are released following an official notification from the University. Applications are available for a period of three weeks, usually in the month of July, for postgraduate courses, and for a period of one month, usually in the second half of the year (September – October) for M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes.
The selection process to the postgraduate courses consists of an analysis of past academic performance. The merit list is based solely on the merit of the candidates at the qualifying level. An entrance examination is conducted by the University for the M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes and a subsequent interview may be organized at the discretion of the University.
