How to Calculate the Scores of RRB Group D Result 2018?
The Marking Format is already explained by the Examination Authority. The scores of the candidate will be calculated as per the marking scheme. The process of calculating the scores is explained below-
- For every correct answer, 1 mark will be added
- For every wrong answer, 1/3rd marks will be deducted.
- The total score of the candidates will be calculated by adding all the correct answers after applying the penalty of the wrong answers.

The formula to Calculate the Scores
The Formula to calculate the scores is as follows-
Total Score = Total Number of Correct Answer x1 – Total Number of Correct Answers x 1/3
What is Normalization Of Scores?
To balance the fairness of the selection procedure, the process of normalization of the score is done. In this process, the examination difficulty level is compared and verified. There was a large number of candidature for the RRB Bangalore Group D Examination. Thus, it is impossible to maintain the difficulty level for the examination all throughout the centers of the exam. Thus, if the paper is easy then the marks are decreased and if the paper was difficult the marks will be increased.
Raw Score
The Raw Score is the marks that are obtained in each section and it is calculated by counting the correctly answered marks after applying the penalty of the wrong answers. Like for an example- if a candidate has attempted 90 questions out of which 15 questions are wrong then using the marking format- the raw score will be 70 marks. This marks might increase or decrease depending on the difficulty level of the examination.
Average Scores
Now Group D is conducting the examination in different shifts, and there is a possibility that the difficulty level of each shift might vary. Suppose, the Shift I Candidates have scored an average score of 60%, Shift II scored an average score of 70% and Shift III candidates have scored an average of 55%. Thus, you can see that there is a variation in the marks. This is due to the difficulty level of the questions. Therefore, to make it equal and fair, the Normalization Process is done.
Importance of Normalization in Calculation of Scores
As you know that, RRB Group D CBT Exam is conducted in multiple shifts and dates. Therefore to equate the difficulty level of the examination, the Railway Recruitment Board has come up with the Normalization of the Scores. The Raw score will be calculated out of 100 and the normalized scores will be calculated based on the difficulty level of the paper.
RRB Group D Scorecard 2018

RRB Bangalore Group D Result 2018 – Physical Efficiency Test
This is the second stage of RRB Bangalore Group D Recruitment 2018. Candidates who have been shortlisted in the CBT will be eligible to appear the Physical Efficiency Test. The Group D Physical Efficiency Test, in short, is called “PET”. RRB Bangalore PET is qualifying in nature. On the basis of the performance of the candidates in Computer Based Test, candidates will be called out for PET two times of the community wise total vacancy of the posts notified against RRBs. In the Physical Efficiency Test, candidates physical strength and fitness will be checked and it is mandatory for all the candidates. The Physically disabled candidates are exempted from attempting PET. Instead, they have to appear a Medical Examination. The Result of RRB Bangalore Group D PET will be announced on the spot. RRB Bangalore Group D Result 2018 – Document Verification
On the basis of the candidate’s performance in Computer Based Test and Document Verification, shortlisted candidates will be called out for Document Verification. In this process, candidates have to show their identity and educational certificates to the RRB Examination Portal. Candidates must carry both original and photocopy of the documents. Candidates who fail to submit or produce these documents will be disqualified from the selection procedure.
