SSC CGL Syllabus 2018 – Complete Syllabus for SSC CGL 2018 Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 based on Exam Pattern

Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination 2018. The Application Forms are available online from 5th May 2018 to 25th May 2018. Candidates can start preparing for the Exam from now onwards. The SSC has released the Syllabus for CGL 2018 exam. Knowing the Syllabus will help the candidates to prepare well for the Exam. SSC CGL Syllabus is mentioned below. The syllabus of SSC CGL exam is different for all the stages of the Examination and is mandatory for the students to know the entire syllabus in order to prepare for SSC CGL 2018.

Exam Pattern of SSC CGL Tier I 2018:

  • Comprises of four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Comprehension.
  • Total Number of Questions- 100 Questions
  • Total Marks Allotted for all the sections is 200 Marks.
  • Total Time Duration- 60 Minutes and 80 Minutes allotted to PWD Candidates.
  • 5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Exam Pattern of SSC CGL Tier II Syllabus

  • Total Marks- 200 Marks
  • Each section carries 100 Questions except English which carries 200 questions
  • Time Duration- 2 Hours and 2 Hours and 30 Minutes is for Physically Handicapped Candidates.
  • 25 marks is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • 2 Hours of time duration is allotted for every section.

SSC CGL 2018 Tier III Syllabus

  • The Tier III is a descriptive examination to test the written skills of the candidates in English/ Hindi.
  • The Mode of the Examination is Offline.
  • The students have to write essays, Precise, application letter etc. in the Exam.
  • The Exam carries 100 marks and the time allotted with a total time 60 Minutes and for Physically Handicapped Students, 80 Minutes is allotted.
  • The Tier-III Paper is only for the “Statistical Investigator Grade II” and “Compiler”.

SSC CGL Tier IV Syllabus 2018

The Tier IV Examination comprises of Skills Test, required for Certain Government Posts all over the country.

  • DEST (Data Entry Speed Test):  This Test is for the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax). This Exam is used to test the Typing Skills/ Speed of the candidate. Candidates will be given an article in English which they have to type on the Computer. The Candidate has to type 2000 Words in 15 Minutes.
  • CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): The three most important modules of this Examination are: Word Processing, Spread Sheets, and Generation of Slides. The Exam is conducted for the CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Exercise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner)

SSC Cgl Tier-I and II Exam are compulsory for all the posts whereas, CGL Tier III is for the “Statistical Investigator Grade II” and “Compiler” and Tier IV is for  CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Exercise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner).
